Did Apple steal ideas for the iPhone? Here’s proof that it didn’t.

There have been some recent rumblings regarding Apple supposedly stealing an iPhone idea for a program which would allow users to review information from the iPhone screen while the phone is still locked. In other words, without unlocking the phone, a user would be able to check his/her missed calls, recent text messages, and stock prices etc. Join discussion...

How To Be More Productive By Taking Breaks [Mac Only]
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-be-more-productive-by-ta...

Have you ever taken a minute to just close your eyes and take a deep breath after an hour of work? Ever stopped to just stretch your legs and walk around? That’s your mind telling you that you have to rest. Ideally, we should take short breaks every 15 minutes and a long one after every hour. But most of the time, it doesn’t happen. We’re usually too drowned with work to bother about resting - that’s how certain diseases occur, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome for example. It can be easily prevented by taking frequent short breaks and stretching. Join discussion...

Microsoft's New "I'm a PC" Ads: IN YOUR FACE MAC!

Now these new ads are what the doctor ordered! I am not a big fan of Mac. Not to alienate those of you out there that like Mac, but for the most part I look at Mac users like pretentious pretty boys, or stuck up drama queen chicks. No offense intended on my part. That is just one of the stereotypes that are out there for Mac users. Join discussion...

iPhone Users with Non-iPhone Plans Get Friendly Warning Notes From AT&T

I'm not sure how far to read into this, but a Boy Genius reader who uses an iPhone with a non-iPhone data plan sent in a note he or she received from AT&T. It was friendly and definitely not a threat, but it does border on stalkery, with a hint of forboding: Join discussion...

Google's Android: It's not just for phones
http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10047551-1.html

The first phone using Google's Android operating system will debut Tuesday, a model from T-Mobile, and more are set come. But some Android partners say the software will use more broadly than just phones. "We're starting to see Android get designed in on devices that extend way beyond the phone--things that might go in the automobile or things that might go in the home," said John Bruggeman, chief marketing officer at Wind River Systems, a Google ally that helps phone makers build and customize Android for their phone hardware. Ubuntu Quick Tip: Installing New True Type Fonts

Submitted by ElDiPablo 14 months, 1 day, 19 hours ago
I am always playing around with different fonts and such in Windows as I strive to play around in various graphic programs for promotional material and other stuff. Every once in a while I have to add a new font that I downloaded from the Internet. Most of us know how to do that already in Windows (If not, email help_at_asktheadmin_dot_com), but what about Ubuntu? Join discussion...
